Jolly Gardeners pub sign The Jolly Gardeners at 36 Lower Richmond Road, Mortlake, that closed a few months ago, has now been reported as boarded up.

The pub at 2 Grove Park Road, Chiswick, W4 3SG, has been empty since Punch Taverns left in March 2023. On the 17th October a group of local residents demonstrated outside the pub to oppose the plans to convert the pub into flats. The turnout came as a petition against the scheme passed 400 signatures. The Hole in the Wall From Propel News today: "Morgan Pub Collective, the multi-site operator led by Richard Morgan, has further added to its estate in London with the acquisition of The Queens in Chiswick. The pub, in Sutton Lane North, was originally the Queen’s Head before becoming the Hole in the Wall. Previously operated by Stonegate Group, it closed earlier this summer. Morgan Pub Collective has taken it on a new free-of-tie, 20-year lease at a passing rent of £75,000 per annum. Morgan told Propel that the pub will reopen later this year as “a free house offering our large range of beers and ales, accompanied by affordable quality food”.

The Riflman pub "A new tenant/manager will be taking on the lease soon subject to the paperwork being agreed and completed. The pub to close temporarily from Sunday 11th October for a few weeks while some redecoration, repairs etc, before reopening under the new tenancy."

John Austin and Steve Brown Following their win (Gold) in the 'Speciality Beers - Flavoured Category', with Honey Dark at the Ealing Beer festival, a framed certificate was presented by John Austin our press & publicity officer to Steve Brown on 25th August 2026 at the brewery in Twickenham.

The winning beer is brewed with dark malts and second fermented with honey, this strong dark beer has chocolate, coffee, caramel and (of course) honey featuring in its aroma and flavour

Bob Gordon - Abbie and staff member The Branch Cider Pub of the Year Award was presented to the Black Dog, Brentford on 29th July 2026 Bob Gordon our chair presented the certificate to Abbie and staff.

The Fountain (July 2012 Beefeater pubs are closing down all its 106 businesses across Britain on 10th September 2026. Parent company Whitbread announced a complete exit from the standalone restaurant sector and are now concentrating on their Premier Inn side. A pub affected in our area is The Fountain at 1 Sixth Cross Road, Twickenham. Plans for the Twickenham site are not known, but the Beefeater pub may be converted to more hotel rooms with a small restaurant for the Premier Inn next door.

The Swan in Hampton Wick Big Smoke have ended their association with the Swan in Hampton Wick. The pub closed after holding a Big Smoke leaving party on the 6th June 2026. The pub will be reopening later in June under a new Shepherd Neame tenancy.

The Royal Oak at 13 Richmond Road, Twickenham, following a complete refurbishment, will reopen as a high-end neighbourhood restaurant and cocktail bar similar to The Gosling in Woking [thegosling.co.uk/] The pub closed in April 2026.
